GOP presidential candidate Rick Santorum’s website touts a “moneybomb” effort, beginning tomorrow. The fundraising goal: $250,000 in three days. (You may recall a few of the “money bombs” from Ron Paul supporters over the past few years, including a one-day $6 million haul in December of 2007. Paul backers will try to do it again on Dec. 16.)
Here’s the closing part of a fundraising letter from Santorum, posted on his campaign webpage:
….Iowans are responding to our message, but I need your help to get over the finish line.
Please commit to being a part of the No Surrender Moneybomb!
Beginning December 14, we will begin our No Surrender Moneybomb where we will focus on raising $250,000 in just three days so we can work for every last vote leading up to the Iowa caucuses. A contribution from you of $25 or up to $2500 will make all the difference. If have been unsure about giving, the time to do so is now during our No Surrender Moneybomb.
The website creator has also figured out how to scroll the names of the “Moneybomb Sponsors” across the bottom of the page. (You may recall that the names of donors to Stephen Colbert’s Super PAC were scrolled across the screen during his show on Comedy Central.)
