As former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin walked in the front door of The Machine Shed restaurant in Urbandale, Iowa, this evening, a reporter asked Palin what she thought about the current field of GOP presidential candidates.
“Happy with the field of candidates. I always think that there’s room for more, though, because spirited debate and more competition will allow an even better discourse and a more rigorous discourse that the public deserves,” Palin said.
Palin was greeted by a chant of “run, Sarah, run” by folks who were crowded in the gift shop area that is the entry for the restaurant. Palin was surrounded by a clutch of media and she made her way into a room where the “Conservatives4Palin” and “Organize4Palin” folks had gathered. Read the Radio Iowa account of the event, with comments from people in the restaurant.
Sarah Palin is an attention grabbing egomaniac who has no intention of running for President because she lacks GUTS. She isn’t a mama grizzly, she’s a mama jellyfish who left her job as governor with her tail between her legs. Perry and Bachmann have the brains and guts that Palin lacks and it’s driving her nuts.
Palin 2012.
She’ll be your POTUS in Jan ’13, jk. I hope your head explodes. – :))
I like Sarah Palin, but she is not ready to be President. Yes she has more executive experience than President Obama had when he ran for President, but that’s not saying much and look how well that has turned out for the country. I think her best move is to pick the candidate she likes best, endorse him or her, work to get them nominated and then elected. Then if offered, take a Cabinet level position to “rehabilitate” her image (I personally don’t think she needs that, but the MSM has tarnished her so much, she needs to reintroduce herself to the rest of the country by doing something, not just talking and being on TV) and this would get her some national level experience that she is supposedly lacking. Then if she wants to and the opportunity is there in 8-16 years, she can run for President.
I am more certain that Sarah Palin will never, ever be President of the United States than I am that the law of gravity is real or that the Earth is round. She won’t run because she has a good gig as a non-candidate and can’t handle the scrutiny. She wouldn’t win the nomination because even a majority of Republicans cannot lower themselves to voting for her. And there is no way she can win a general election. Maybe she and the Donald will run as independents– giving a four-way race in which they can battle it out for third place.
