Former Minnesota Governor Tim Pawlenty was criticized for taking a mulligan in the last debate when he had a chance to criticize “RomneyCare” but tonight Pawlenty is throwing elbows. His first rhetorical punch went right at the former Massachusetts governor’s wealth. Pawlenty, in charging that Barack Obama has no specific plans for fixing the economy, volunteered to either cook dinner for someone who could find an Obama plan — or mow their yard. “In case Mitt wins, I’m limiting it to one acre,” Pawlenty quipped.
There was also an extended period in the first part of the debate in which Pawlenty and Minnesota Congresswoman Michele Bachmann were pressed, an exchange that ended with Pawlenty ridiculing Bachmann’s “titanium spine” as ineffective in stopping TARP, ObamaCare. “Please stop, because you’re killing us,” Pawlenty concluded.
Bachmann shot back, defending her record, saying she was “at the tip of the spear” in fighting ObamaCare against President Obama, Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid. “I gave ’em a run for their money,” Bachmann said.
