The Iowa GOP’s State Central Committee has just approved the criteria for the candidate line-up in the FOX News debate on August 11, two days before the party’s Straw Poll, adding that all the folks who are on the Straw Poll ballot will be allowed into the debate. That’s good news for the Thaddeus McCotters of the world who are announced candidates but likely don’t meet the at-least-registering-in-the-polls threshold.
Committee member John Ortega suggested the candidates should be required to show a birth certificate, too, but the party’s chairman said the criteria requiring FEC filings covers that and Ortega dropped the subject.
