Neither the Iowa House nor Senate met on Monday. Just a handful of legislators were at the statehouse yesterday, working on legislation. Representative Ralph Watts, a Republican from Adel, was called upon to deliver the opening prayer. He prayed for his fellow legislators — “wherever they may be.”
All 100 members of the Iowa House may be in Des Moines today, as the House is scheduled to debate two bills with property tax implications. The Senate is not scheduled to return to Des Moines ’til Thursday.
