A “cougar” for Kettering? Really?

The Iowa Senate this afternoon passed a bill that deals with two types of cats called bengels and savannahs.  Senator Joe Seng, who happens to be a veterinarian, was the bill’s chief sponsor.  He explained the legislation, then took one question about it from a fellow senator.

“Senator Seng, I just want to make sure I understand this. Is there anything — and I think Senator Kettering is probably concerned about this — is there anything in this bill about cougars?” Senator Rob Hogg (D-Cedar Rapids) asked.

In case you’re not hip to the kid lingo these days, a cougar is the slang that’s often used to describe an older woman who dates younger men.  Senator Steve Kettering (R-Lake View) is single.  He’s also 67 years old.  I’ll allow you readers of the blog to contemplate the potential age of an alleged “cougar” who may set her sights on Kettering.
