Iowa Faith & Freedom Coalition president Steve Scheffler used the beginning of his remarks to tonight’s crowd to comment on states like Florida and Michigan which hope to leapfrog in front of Iowa’s first-in-the-nation Caucuses.
“This is the start of the 2012 presidential caucus process,” he said of tonight’s event. “The focus on the nation is on Iowa and we want to tell all of our other friends in all the other 49 states, don’t get cute because we are going to be first.” The crowd applauded. “That’s just the way it is.”
Scheffler, by the way, is Iowa’s Republican National Committeeman.
