Representative Helen Miller, a Democrat from Fort Dodge, rose to speak on the House floor early this morning. She thanked her colleagues in the House for their support and messages of sympathy in the weeks since her husband, Dr. Edward Miller, died.
Miller told a brief story, saying a little girl in Fort Dodge had been making cookies for her husband and that same girl now believed Edward Miller lived on a cloud in Heaven.
“She asked her mother which cloud he’d be on,” Miller said, adding the girl wanted to make more cookies and send them to Edward Miller’s cloud. “I told her mother to just bring them to my house and I’d make sure they got to my husband.”
