State tax receipts rise

The latest report from the Legislative Services Agency shows state tax receipts from July 1, 2010 through December 31, 2010 were up 3.8 percent when compared to the same six-month period a year ago.  That’s slightly above the 3.6 percent prediction of the State Revenue Estimating Conference.

Personal income tax payments to the state are on an upswing, 4.7 percent ahead for the July-December, 2010 period compared to the last half of 2009.

Sales and use taxes are up 3.9 percent for the past six months, while in December alone sales and use tax payments to the state were up 6.7 percent compared to December, ’09.
