“Unofficial” turnout numbers

The latest information from the state’s commissioner of elections:

SECRETARY OF STATE MAURO RELEASES UNOFFICIAL TOTAL TURNOUT FOR 2010 PRIMARY ELECTION

DES MOINES – Secretary of State Michael A. Mauro today announced unofficial voter turnout results from the 2010 Primary Election.

Preliminary figures show that 299,409 voters participated in Tuesday’s primary. Of those votes, 227,347 were cast in the Republican primary and 72,062 in the Democratic primary. 

Please note all published results and turnout are UNOFFICIAL until the completion of the state canvass on June 28. County canvasses will take place Monday, June 14 and Tuesday, June 15.
