For the first time in this campaign season, a media outlet may release a poll on the race for the Iowa Republican Party’s 2010 nomination for governor.
There have been a number of independent polls showing head-to-head match-ups between each of the three GOP candidates and the current governor, Democrat Chet Culver. But no poll released thus far has taken a snapshot of the race among former Governor Terry Branstad, Sioux City business consultant Bob Vander Plaats and State Representative Rod Roberts.
That may change at 5 p.m. when KCCI-TV in Des Moines releases its poll, although thelanguage on that post on the station’s website is vague. This may be another Branstad versus Culver, Vander Plaats versus Culver, Roberts versus Culver exercise. From the station’s website:
Iowans answered questions for the poll about who they would support for governor, including Gov. Chet Culver, former Gov. Terry Branstad, Bob Vander Plaats and Rod Roberts.
