Steve King now tweeting

If you’ve been following Congressman Steve King (R-Kiron, Iowa) on Twitter, you may have noticed that account is down.  King’s staff had been posting links and other information on the previous site.  Now, Congressman King is posting tweets himself on a new account.  King sent word last night, via Twitter, that he was on his way to Massachusetts to campaign for Republican senatorial candidate Scott Brown.

King sent the following tweet at about 7:49 Iowa time this morning:

Even more pervasive than Brown supporters here in Boston is the snow. The worse the weather the better for the side with momentum – Brown.

King was in the national news on Friday, about Haitian immigrants living illegally in the U.S.  President Obama granted temporary protective status to the group, so they can remain in the U.S. for 18 months rather than return to earthquake-ravaged Haiti.  King commented on the order.  Here is that portion of the ABCNews report:

“This sounds to me like open borders advocates exercising the Rahm Emanuel axiom: ‘Never let a crisis go to waste,'” Rep. Steve King, R-Iowa, said in an e-mail message to ABCNews. “Illegal immigrants from Haiti have no reason to fear deportation, but if they are deported, Haiti is in great need of relief workers, and many of them could be a big help to their fellow Haitians.”
