News this morning out of the governor’s office: The panel of advisors Governor Culver assembled to review the state’s roughly three dozen tax credits will meet tomorrow (Friday, January 8). Dick Oshlo, the interim director of the Iowa Department of Management (which means he’s the governor’s top budget advisor right now), will release an “overview” of the recommendations when the panel opens at 10 a.m., then the panel will “vote” on the recommendations.
In addition to Oshlo, the other members of the panel are Fred Hubbell, who had been acting director of the Iowa Department of Economic Development; Jeff Ward of the Iowa Agricultural Development Authority; Bret Mills, who had been acting director of the Iowa Finance Authority and who is now the director of the Iowa Department of Economic Development; Cyndi Pederson of the Iowa Department of Cultural Affairs; Mark Schuling of the Iowa Department of Revenue and Rob Berntsen of the Iowa Utilities Board.
