US Senator Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) did a long interview with National Public Radio. It aired earlier today on Morning Edition. You can listen to the interview here. Grassley tells interviewer Steve Inskeep that backroom negotiators (including him) are progressing toward a deal: "We're on the edge and almost there."
