The Republican National Committee plans to air a radio ad in 33 states, including Iowa, targeting some of the so-called Blue Dog Democrats. Congressman Leonard Boswell, a Democrat from Des Moines, is on their target list.
“President Obama and Congressional Democrats seem determined to ignore Republicans ideas about health care reform and impose their government-run health care experiment on America without regard to the devastating consequences," RNC chairman Michael Steele said in a news release announcing the ad buy. "Their plan would make health care more expensive, add to the record budget deficit and greatly affect the quality of care Americans currently receive. President Obama’s dangerous health care experiment on America is a risk our country cannot afford.”
No word on how extensive the buy may be. The 60 second spot begins with these sentences: “Most Americans agree. It’s time to take action to reform our healthcare system. But the dangerous experiment President Obama and the Democrats in Congress want just can’t be the right answer."
