CNBC ranks Iowa as the fourth-best state in the country to do business. Viginia was #1, followed by Texas at #2 and Colorado at #3. At the bottom of the list were Hawaii at #49 and Alaska at #50
Iowa was ranked as the best state in the country when it comes to the cost of doing business, but ranked near the middle of the pack when it came to quality of life and the workforce. Iowa got even lower marks on transportation and access to capital.
