White House Domestic Policy Advisor Melody Barnes is in Iowa today. Barnes spoke this morning at an event organized by the Iowa Initiative to Reduce Unwanted Pregnancies. (Former Iowa First Lady Chrstie Vilsack is running the program.)
Afterwards, during a roundtable with a handful of Iowa reporters, Barnes was asked about the abortion issue in the context of the health care debate. Kathie Obradovich of The Des Moines Register asked the question of Barnes, making reference to something Barnes said during her remarks at the Iowa Initiative to Reduce Unwanted Pregnancies event. (Context: Barnes was referencing the Ryan letter on public funding when she mentioned not seeing legislative language.)
