Governor Chet Culver is at the National Governors Association meeting in Biloxi, Mississippi, and he just spoke by phone with statehouse reporters. He was asked about Representative Kerry Burt, a Democrat from Waterloo who is accused of fudging his home address, therefore saving about $37,000 in tuition for his children to attend the Price Lab School at the University of Northern Iowa.
The governor said he is "very troubled" and "concerned" about the case, although he said Burt should have his day in court.
