During a news conference on Wednesday, Governor Chester J. Culver was asked about the new Twitter account which bears his name. He was specifically asked about "ghost writers" and sidestepped the question: "We're going to start experimenting with (Twitter). It's going to be kind of fun," Culver said, "so I'm looking forward to using that new media option."
On Thursday, Culver's staff issued a news release, making it clear that any "fun" perpetrated through this Twitter account will be posted by others (his staff), not him. Read the Culver news release below.
The Office of Governor Chet Culver and Lt. Governor Patty Judge is now on Twitter. The Governor’s office will be using Twitter as one more communications tool to distribute press releases and advisories, as well as reminders of upcoming events and other brief announcements.
There are two easy ways to follow the Governor’s office on Twitter:
1. If you already have a Twitter account, simply sign on and go to @GovChetCulver.
2. Or go to www.twitter.com/govchetculver and follow the directions.
