What if we call you governor, just to keep it clear?

If you watched Monty Python's Flying Circus, you may remember the Bruces sketch.  It involved three professors named Bruce who were introduced — by the "boss fella" named Bruce – to a chap named Michael Baldwin.

"Is your name's not Bruce then?" one Bruce asked Michael.

"No, it's Michael," Michael meekly replied. 

"That's going to cause a little confusion," another Bruce said.

"What if we call you Bruce, just to keep it clear?" the third Bruce suggested.

Anyway, I was reminded of this sketch this morning as the medical director of the Blank Children's Hospital introduced Governor Chet Culver at a news conference. 

"We've always at Blank treated people regardless of their ability to pay and we're really happy that the legislature and the governor has worked very hard to help make sure that every child in Iowa is covered and at this time I'd like you to join me in welcoming to Blank Children's Hospital Dr. Chet," Dr. Ken Cheyne said, pausing to laugh at his verbal misstep.  "Doctor – I've either demoted or promoted you."

"Promoted," Culver assured him as Culver, Cheyne and onlookers laughed.  The doctor and the governor shook hands, and Culver added, "Thank you, Governor Cheyne."  There was more laughter.
