Governor’s reaction to House hearing

WHO-TV doesn't have the video posted, but they have a story based on a report by Dave Pricewhich aired last night, featuring reaction from Governor Chet Culver, a Democrat, to the public hearing debacle in the Iowa House.  Here's a section of the story:

"I was disturbed to hear things were thrown from the gallery. That's completely unacceptable. Completely out of bounds," Culver said.

The Governor says Republicans deserve some of the blame since they helped bring in some of the people who got so excited last night. Culver says the election was over last November and lawmakers need to get together and avoid conflict and work on fixing problems.

For the first time publicly, Culver says he is looking to his re-election next year.

"We'll have a very spirited election next year. In fact, I'll be on the ballot. I look forward to getting out there myself next year. For now we've got to take care of the peoples' business and lower the tone and focus more on solving problems," Culver said.
