Braley among Democrats meeting with Obama

According to a news release from Congressman Bruce Braley's office, Braley is a "moderate" who will be at the White House on Tuesday:

Washington, DC – Tomorrow, Rep. Bruce Braley (D-Iowa) will participate in a meeting between members of the New Democrat Coalition (NDC) and President Barack Obama.  The meeting will take place tomorrow afternoon in the State Dining Room at the White House.  Braley is a member of the New Democrat Coalition.

The meeting will focus on a number of issues, including the President’s budget, the economy, and healthcare.

“I’m looking forward to speaking with the President tomorrow about strengthening the middle class and rebuilding our economy,” Braley said.  “I’m also looking forward to a discussion about healthcare reform, an issue that we’ll be taking up on the Health Subcommittee tomorrow for the first time this year.  I’ll be interested in listening to the President’s take on this important debate, and hearing more about his plans to create jobs.”

The New Democrat Coalition is a group of moderate, pro-growth members of Congress who advocate a common sense policy agenda focusing on the issues of economic growth, national security, and fiscal responsibility.

Braley is a member of the House Energy and Commerce Committee and the Health Subcommittee
