An alert reader of the blog notes a bill pending in the Iowa legislature would change the name of the Iowa Department of Elder Affairs to the Department on Aging. According to The Office of Lousy Acronyms (TOOLA — yes, I just made it up), that would mean the state agency in charge of issues facing Iowa's elderly population would be the D.O.A.
I think you know what D.O.A. means, right?
