The Des Moines Register has the story posted on its website. David Yepsen, the longtime political reporter/columnist at the Register, is leaving to head the Paul Simon Public Policy Institute at Southern Illinois University in Carbondale. Yepsen would not confirm for the story, but the paper's managing editor (essentially) did.
Yepsen, by the way, is on furlough from the paper this week.

Yepsen leaving will be great for the Register. His ideas have become old and I’m tired of his non-progressive stances.
