You've no doubt seen the Cuban-art-inspired image of Obama that was featured on posters, t-shirts and was named an iconic image by Time Magazine. Today, longtime Iowa politico Nick Ryan has posted a similar image of Bob Vander Plaats on his Facebook page.
Ryan was manager of Jim Nussle's 2006 gubernatorial campaign after working for Nussle while Nussle was in congress. Ryan has his own consulting company now and one of his clients is Bruce Rastetter, an ethanol entrepreneur who is on one of those top 20 lists of Republicans who may/might/could run for governor in 2110. Vander Plaats is no longer on the may/might/could list. Vander Plaats announced today he is running for governor.
