Vilsack to speak at DNC Saturday

C-SPAN junkies:  Governor Tom Vilsack will take his turn before the Democratic National Committee this Saturday, February 3, 2007.  His staff indicates his time slot (among all the Democratic presidential contenders who are taking a turn before the microphone) is 9:20 Iowa time on Saturday morning.  C-SPAN will carry the appearances of all the candidates.

Earlier this week, we learned Vilsack will earning a paycheck from Drake for a part-time position in the university’s law school.  Now, there’s more news today about work for which Vilsack will be compensated:

Gov. Vilsack to Provide Renewable Energy Policy
Counsel to MidAmerican Energy Holdings Company

DES MOINES, Iowa – Feb. 1, 2007 – Gov. Tom Vilsack has entered into an agreement to provide renewable energy and environmental expertise to MidAmerican Energy Holdings Company.

“Gov. Vilsack’s commitment to renewable energy has made Iowa a national leader in the production of wind energy,” said Greg Abel, president of MidAmerican Energy Holdings Company. “We look forward to drawing upon his expertise as we continue to develop renewable energy sources throughout the United States.”

“I’m looking forward to working with MidAmerican Energy Holdings Company as it expands its portfolio of renewable energy generating resources not only here in Iowa, but throughout the nation,” Gov. Vilsack said.

Gov. Vilsack’s services will be provided to MidAmerican Energy Holdings Company, and he will be compensated by the company’s shareholders, not its customers.
