Jim Nussle, the 2006 Republican nominee for governor, is joining with his former congressional chief of staff to open a firm in Iowa. Steve Greiner, Nussle’s COS, left the Nussle congressional office and worked as legal counsel for former House Speaker Newt Gingrich. Greiner and his wife were on the Nussle campaign bus for the final weekend of the campaign. News release after the jump.

Cedar Rapids, IA – Former Congressman Jim Nussle of Manchester announced today that he has formed a new business. Navigating Strategies, L.L.C. is an Iowa-based consulting firm that combines his years of experience in the public and private sectors.
Together with long-time associate and former chief of staff, Steve Greiner, originally from Independence, Iowa, the team provides a partnership and expertise in the areas of business, government, politics, communications, and public policy.
“This is a really exciting time” Nussle said. “I have been so honored to have had the opportunity to serve Iowans in the public sector. This venture gives me an opportunity to continue helping Iowans from the private sector angle.”

Nussle served as the eastern Iowa Representative from 1991–2007 and was a candidate in the Iowa Gubernatorial race in 2006. He continues to make his home in Manchester where he has lived for more than 20 years.
