The Legislative Services Agency has released the report on state tax collections for the month of August. The report shows personal income tax payments to the state were up eight percent over August, 2009. Sales and use tax payments to the state were up 6.1 percent over the same month last year, although there was a delayed July payment that inflated the August number on sales/use taxes a bit (read the report to find out the details on that timing issue).
