State tax revenues dip again

Read the Legislative Services Agency “Monthly Memo” on state tax receipts. Personal income tax payments to the state were down 2.1 percent in October, 2009, compared to October, 2008. Sales and use tax payments to the state were down 18.2 percent in the October, 2009, to October, 2008 comparison.
In the first four months of the state fiscal year (July, August, September & October), there’s been a 7.8 percent drop in overall state tax collections compared to the same four-month period last year.
