At approximately 11:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 25, 2009, Eric Bakker (an aide to Senate Majority Leader Mike Gronstal) was given a round of applause when he arrived in the House chamber. Master Bakker was wearing the traditional "adjournment jacket" — interpreted as a positive sign the end of the '09 Iowa legislative session is nigh.
