This statement just arrived, via email:
DES MOINES – In anticipation of record turnout at the polls tomorrow, Secretary of State Michael A. Mauro reminds voters to be patient on Election Day.
“I encourage everyone to get out and vote tomorrow, but I also want people to understand they are taking part in an election with one of the largest turnouts in history,” said Secretary of State Mauro. “Voting will take some time, especially at peak hours throughout the day, when the polls open, over the lunch hour and after work.”
For more information on voting on Election Day, please visit www.sos.state.ia.us.
(Mauro, by the way, may be one of the people standing ni line. Despite all the talk about early voting, Mauro prefers to go to his local precinct polling place and vote on Election Day.)
